Paeonia
We are growing many different kind of perennials in our nursery as well as a wide variety of Paeonia. Right now we are growing more than 50 varieties and we are always looking for new and better plants to add to our nursery. We are growing close to 400,000 Paeonia roots of which half are for export. We grow the Paeonia in a two year growing cycle which ensures the best possible root quality for shipping as well as a constand supply from year to year.

3/5 eyed plants
We will leave plants in the fields for two years after which we harvest them in September. We then divide the roots in two. The divided roots will be planted back into our fields, half in a field where they will stay for two years and the other half in another field. These will stay in for one year and make a great 3/5 eyed plant which we will use for export. The advantage of growing Paeonia this way, is that the plants which have been in the ground for a year come out as 3/5 eyed plants without any excessive old roots or division damage and can be shipped freshly dug.

We harvest the plants as late as possible to ensure the foliage has died off enough and the plants are dormant. This way we don't damage them during lifting. We then wash the plants, give them a hot water treatment and pack them for shipping.
Over the years the results our customers have had with our Paeonia roots have been very good which gives us the confidence that this is the best possible way of supplying excellent 3/5 eyed plants for the highest possible blooming percentage.
